Course Overview:

Clergy are invited into the most intimate aspects of people’s lives. This course is designed to provide clergy with a practical awareness and ethical understanding of the issues facing clergy as it relates to professional conduct and safety within the context of congregational life and pastoral ministry. We will explore what it means to build an ethical biblical framework for clergy decision making and resolving ethical issues. We will discover tools for ethical decision making given the context of personal, communal, and institutional covenants.

Schedule:

Dates for this course is: Saturdays, March 31, April 14th, April 28, May 12, and May 19.

We will meet on Saturday mornings from 9 am to 12 pm at the West Paris Baptist Church, Church Street, West Paris, Maine

 

First Class Preparation:

Please read Trull & Carter: Introduction & Chapters 1-3 (pages 13-88) and be prepared to discuss the material.
