Course Overview

To learn how to develop and deliver expository messages

To help the student to understand the relevance of preaching and to give an authoritative message 

To give the student effective tools of the trade for preaching

To show how the Scriptures can reach the minds and hearts of men and women-so people will listen

To learn to Preach Boldly in a “Whatever” Culture

 

Assignments and Due Dates – class attendance is a must!

  1. To purchase and read the Book “Biblical Preaching, The Development and Delivery of Expository Messages.” By Haddon W. Robinson.  Baker Academic. C. 2001.

Due 10/19/10                                       25% of course grade

  1. To purchase and read (selections of the Book “The Art & Craft of Biblical Preaching” by Haddon Robinson and Craig Brian Larson (General Editor).  Zondervan – Christianity/Today – Zondervan.com – copyright 2005.  (A Comprehensive Resource for Today’s Communicators).

 Due 10/19/10                                     25% of course grade

  1. Each student will prepare and preach their own message and receive evaluation

Due 11/5/10                                           50% of course grade

    (All sermons must be typed full manuscript and you may preach from notes or a written manuscript.)
